SUSANA FALCONI

This fabulous artist was born in Quito, Ecuador, and her talent was inherited from her father, Master Wenceslao Falconi with whom she shared long journeys in his art studio as a child. Her dream was that of becoming a Walt Disney sketch artist. “At age 3, I sketched my little dog with so much detail that my father was moved at the sight of my innate talent”, shares Susana, who deviated for a while from painting to study architecture and interior design, something that allowed her to realize her true calling for the arts. It was then that she fully committed to painting and soon after held exhibits in several cities of Ecuador. In 1999, she was given the opportunity to exhibit her work internationally and did so at the New York Ecuadorian Consulate. In 2004, the world-renowned Opera Gallery hired her as an independent artist, and it was through this opportunity that her work reached, aside from Ecuador and the U.S., places like Russia, Mexico, Switzerland, Spain and Colombia.

Susana also ventured successfully in restoring great works and paintings by renowned masters like Patrick Boussignac and Fernando Botero. In 2009 she was awarded the Excellence in Preservation Award in the field of restoration and in 2011 the New York Realism Jury Choice awarded her the Gold Medal for her realistic art. In the same year, she also won first place at the Greenpoint Gallery Exhibition for one of her works; these, among many of her accolades.

Susana is very much in touch with her spiritual side, she’s coherent in her thoughts, words and actions; “when you understand that you are part of everything, your things flow wonderfully, and you feel that you vibrate at the same level as nature and the universe. I defend the animal kingdom. My latest work denounces the destruction and pollution of wildlife’s habitat as well as the abuse which many of them undergo; it is my major inspiration for being a vegan. My message invites and encourages the use of creative intelligence, which sets us apart from animals, to protect them and defend their rights.” She then cites Gandhi’s famous quote: “The greatness of a nation is judged by the way its animals are treated.”

Susana dreams of leaving her 4 children Carla, Maria José, Maria Emilia and David a legacy of love for nature, being that she is fully convinced that “love is the base for a better world.”

Cada pincelada le da vida a un simple lienzo blanco, cada trazo crea magia y cada color, poesía muda. Sus cuadros realistas comparten emociones que vuelan desde su imaginación hasta lo más profundo del espectador. Susana Falconi; el arte y la pasión hecha mujer.

Esta fabulosa artista nació en la ciudad de Quito, Ecuador. Su talento fue heredado de su padre, el maestro Wenceslao Falconi con quien desde chica compartió largas jornadas en su taller de pintura. Con él, aprendió técnicas y cultivó su amor por el arte. Su sueño era ser dibujante de Walt Disney; “A los 3 años de edad, dibujé con detalles a mi perrito; mi padre se emocionó al ver mi talento innato” dice Susana, quien se desvió por un tiempo de la pintura para estudiar arquitectura y decoración de interiores, para luego reconfirmar que su verdadera vocación era el arte. Así se dedicó de lleno a pintar y pronto realizó exposiciones por varias ciudades de Ecuador. En 1999 se le presentó la oportunidad de exhibir sus obras a nivel internacional y expuso su trabajo en el Consulado Ecuatoriano de New York. En el 2004, la mundialmente reconocida Opera Gallery la contrató como artista independiente, fue así como además de Ecuador y EEUU, sus pinturas llegaron a Rusia, México, Suiza, España y Colombia.

Susana también incursionó con gran éxito en la restauración de grandes obras y pinturas de renombrados maestros como Patrick Boussignac y Fernando Botero. En el 2009 recibió el premio Excellence In Preservation Award en el campo de la restauración y en el 2011 el New York Realism Jury Choice le otorgó la medalla de oro por su arte realista, en el mismo año, también obtuvo el primer lugar en el Greenpoint Gallery exhibition por una de sus obras; solo por nombrar algunos de sus premios.

Susana está muy conectada a su lado espiritual, es coherente con sus pensamientos, palabras y acciones; “Cuando entiendes que eres parte del todo, tus cosas fluyen de manera maravillosa, sientes que vibras al mismo nivel de la naturaleza y del universo. Defiendo el reino animal. Mi último trabajo denuncia la destrucción y la contaminación del hábitat de los animales salvajes y el abuso a los que muchos de ellos son sometidos; ésta es mi mayor inspiración para ser vegana. Mi mensaje invita al uso de la inteligencia creadora que nos diferencia de los animales para protegerlos y para hacer valer sus derechos” y prosigue citando la frase célebre de Gandhi: “La grandeza de una nación se juzga por la forma en que son tratados sus animales”

Susana sueña con dejarles a sus 4 hijos: Carla, María José, María Emilia y David un legado de amor por la naturaleza, ya que está totalmente convencida que “el amor es la base para un mundo mejor”
