Lorraine C. Ladish is a modern woman born in Spain to a Spaniard father and an American mother who raised her in Pittsburgh, PA and in Madrid, Spain. Between her genes and that of her close relatives one finds a cultural mix, all of which have fortified her and made her feel universal. Her grandfather had a print shop, and like her father, he was also a writer.

As a young girl she was very introverted because she used to feel fat and ugly. At 15 years old she struggled with bulimia and anorexia; and it was from this tough experience that her first book was born: I Feel Fat, which in less than a month became news in the papers and on TV, because it wasn’t a novel but a personal experience. “I noticed that the subject was treated with sensationalism” says Lorraine. “Nevertheless, I continued writing about my experiences which turned into successful books on growth and self improvement, among them: Inner Beauty, The Challenge of Writing and Publishing, I’m Pregnant. Now What?, Starting from Scratch, and the most recent, The Journal to Success, which I hold very dear because it was born from a blog that I started writing during the recession, in 2008. I wasn’t working but I had a lot of financial responsibilities, my relationship with my ex spouse was wasn’t good, and I had to move forward with my two daughters. I thought that there had to be more people in a similar situation as mine and started searching for some light in the midst of darkness. My work was welcomed in the magazine Hola in Spain and as I wrote the blog, I went ahead with the book and when I finished editing it, I had overcome all my financial, professional and emotional issues. It was a great experience.”

Lorraine was editor of VOXXI Mujer, the Hispanic voice of the XXI century, and managing editor of the column Consejos de Mamá in the news portal About.com in Spanish. She’s currently the Editor in Chief of Mamiverse.com, geared to English speaking Latin mothers; she’s a professional translator and author of 17 books.

Today, at age 50, Lorraine C. Ladish, is living in Florida with her two precious daughters, Chloe and Alexia, and her spouse’s son, Finn. She enjoys an excellent relationship with Phillippe, who along with her followers, sees her as an example and with whom she feels fulfilled, serene and patient because she realizes that she’s at the peak of her life.

Lorraine C. Ladish es una mujer cosmopolita, nació en España y creció en Pittsburgh, PA y luego en Madrid. Es hija de padre español y madre norteamericana. En su genética y en sus parientes cercanos existe una mezcla de culturas que la han enriquecido y que la hacen sentir universal. Su abuelo tenía una imprenta, y tanto él como su padre son escritores.

De chica fue muy introvertida porque se sentía gorda y fea. A sus 15 años enfrentó trastornos de alimentación, bulimia y anorexia. De esa fuerte experiencia nació su primer libro: Me siento gorda, el cual en menos de un mes, se convirtió en noticia para los diarios y la televisión, ya que no se trataba de una novela sino de una experiencia personal. “Me di cuenta de que el tema era tratado con sensacionalismo” nos cuenta Lorraine. “Sin embargo, continué escribiendo sobre mis experiencias que se convirtieron en exitosos libros de crecimiento y superación personal, entre ellos: Belleza interior, El reto de escribir y publicar, Estoy embarazada. ¿Y ahora, qué?, Volver a empezar y el más reciente, Diario del éxito, al cual le tengo un cariño muy especial porque nació de un blog que empecé a escribir durante la recesión, en el 2008. No tenía trabajo pero sí muchos compromisos económicos, la relación con mi ex pareja estaba mal y debía salir adelante con mis dos hijas. Pensé que debía de haber más personas que estaban en situaciones parecidas a la mía y empecé a buscar un poco de luz en la oscuridad. Mi trabajo fue aceptado en la revista Hola en España y a medida que escribía en el blog, adelantaba el libro y cuando terminé de editarlo, había superado todas mis situaciones económicas, profesionales y emocionales. Fue una gran experiencia."

Lorraine fue Editora Jefe de Mujer en VOXXI; la voz hispana del siglo XXI y editora guía de la sección Consejos De Mamá en el portal de noticias About.com en español. En la actualidad es Editora Jefe de Mamiverse.com, dirigido a mamás latinas de habla inglesa, es traductora profesional y autora de 17 libros.

Hoy, a sus 50 años, Lorraine C. Ladish, vive en Florida con sus dos preciosas hijas, Chloe y Alexia, y con Finn, el hijo de su pareja, quienes al igual que sus seguidores, la ven como un ejemplo, disfruta de una excelente relación con Phillippe y se encuentra plena, serena y paciente porque se acepta y siente que está en el mejor momento de su vida.
