THE ICON OF COLOMBIAN YOUTH
RADIO
Alejandro Villalobos,
marketing and advertising graduate from Bogota’s Politécnico Gran
Colombiano, is today one of the most influential characters in the history
of Colombian radio. Thanks to his constant work and great dedication, this man
was able to carry out the Mega Fest, an event that started in 2012
lasting two days and filling up with hundreds of people one of the most
spacious spots of the Colombian capital, Simón Bolívar Park. With
various concert areas available for leisure and recreation, the Mega Fest
is the evolution of the concert Nuestra Tierra which was held for eight
continuous years and where the best artists of the moment became known.
Villalobos is the founder of Nuestra Tierra Awards; which aimed to support Colombian talent. “It all began with
the everyday routine. We looked for talent and after six months of working on
it the first concert took place; following, was the introduction of Nuestra Tierra Awards, which looked to
stimulate and motivate Colombian talent,” assures Alejandro.
His work in media started
at the end of 1986 when Alejandro
worked as a DJ at the Súper Estación radio network next to the unraveling program Zoológico De La Mañana.
After working at the station for two years, the Caracol radio network
invited him to take part of the Radio Activa network as a DJ. Sometime
after, he takes the role of director of the station in the city of Bogotá.
After managing several
stations, RCN Radio Network offers Villalobos the directive of La Mega at a national level, which has
positioned itself as the top youth radio station of the country. “It has been a
subject of consistency, of renewing celebrities, reinventing content and of
connecting with the target audience,” says Villalobos.
Villalobos has also worked on TV in Rock Activos and La Locomotora in Caracol,
while in RCN TV he has directed shows
like Pido la Parola, Los Ángeles De La Mega and Las Tandas de
la Mega.

Alejandro Villalobos, graduado de mercadeo y
publicidad en la universidad Politécnico Gran Colombiano de la ciudad de
Bogotá, es hoy en día uno de los personajes más influyentes en la
historia de la radio colombiana. Gracias a su trabajo constante y a su gran dedicación,
este hombre logró realizar el Mega Fest, un evento que se inició en el
año 2012 y que con una durabilidad de dos días, ha logrado llenar con centenares
de personas uno de los espacios más grandes de la capital colombiana; el parque
Simón Bolívar. Con varias zonas de conciertos, lúdicas y recreativas, el
Mega Fest es la evolución del concierto Nuestra Tierra que se
venía presentando desde hace ocho años continuos, donde se han dado a conocer
los mejores artistas del momento.
Villalobos es el fundador de los Premios Nuestra Tierra. Premios
que buscan apoyar el talento nacional colombiano. “Todo se inició con la rutina
del día a día. Buscábamos talentos y después de seis meses de estar trabajando
en el tema se realizó un primer concierto, después se fundaron los Premios NuestraTierra, los cuales han buscado estimular y motivar el
talento colombiano”; asegura Alejandro.
Su trabajo en los medios inició a finales del año 1986
cuando Alejandro se desempeñaba como DJ en la emisora Súper Estación
junto al desarrollo del programa Zoológico De La Mañana. Después de
laborar por dos años en dicha emisora, la cadena radial Caracol lo
invitó a ser partícipe de la estación Radio Activa como DJ. Tiempo más
tarde, recibe la dirección de la emisora en la ciudad de Bogotá.
Tras dirigir varias emisoras, la cadena radial RCN
le ofrece a Villalobos ejercer la dirección a nivel nacional de La
Mega, la cual se ha posesionado como la primera emisora juvenil del país. “Ha
sido un tema de consistencia, de estar renovando personalidades, reinventando
contenidos y de conexión con el público objetivo”, afirma Villalobos.
Villalobos también ha realizado algunos trabajos en televisión
como Rock Activos y La Locomotora en Caracol, mientras que
en RCN televisión ha estado bajo la dirección de programas como Pido
la Parola, Los Ángeles De La Mega y Las Tandas de la Mega.
Alejandro
Villalobos se define como un apasionado
por la radio y por la música, un hombre que se siente feliz y que disfruta lo
que hace.
