Volví a Nacer is the tune that has all of Latin America dancing Carlos Vives style, the Colombian singer songwriter who has been and will continue to be liked after having merited the heart of his homeland. This affirmation was supported at the Nuestra Tierra Awards, an important Colombian recognition event that awarded this successful artist with 6 prizes in one evening. And for those who know about music, this bouquet of awards was not a surprise, as this tune is one of the songs that have long remained in the prestigious Billboards list.

But the feast continues, as the firm Sony Music joyfully announced that Caribbean, Carlos Alberto Vives Restrepo joins their cast after signing a contract where his new production Corazón Profundo, which includes the above named song, already emerges as one of the favorite and most successful albums of the year. His official video has surpassed 18 million visits in YouTube after only three months of being launched.

And even though he’s far from where he started, Vives maintains that essence which allowed him to become the “Vallenato ambassador” to the whole world, after total success was obtained through his songs La Gota Fria, El Amor de mi Tierra, and La Tierra del Olvido.

Both his songs and his dynamic and joyful smile have turned Vives into the deserving representation of a joyous Caribbean culture, humble and jovial in the exterior. Carlos has learned to represent with great pride a Colombia that supports him and follows him both nationally and internationally; and behind the many awards, being the only Colombian to win a Grammy Award in the year 2000 followed by a Latin Grammy Award, is the best retribution that the singer can offer to his loyal followers.

In regards to his personal life, Carlos Vives has been very prudent as it relates to his third and latest marriage to former Antioquia beauty queen, Claudia Elena Vásquez, with whom he had his two youngest children, Elena and Pedro. His first two, Carlos Enrique and Lucia, were born while married to Puerto Rican Herlinda Gómez, with whom it is said that he has had to work hard in order to stay close to his oldest children. It seems that tensions with Herlinda after the divorce were a difficult challenge to overcome. But the enthusiastic spirit of Carlos keeps him strong and always full of energy in order to put his people to dance and to continue happily united with his 4 kids; but above all, to keep that smile, characteristic of his always happy expression.

Volví a Nacer es el tema que tiene a toda Latinoamérica bailando al estilo de Carlos Vives, el canta autor colombiano que ha estado y seguirá en el gusto y en el corazón de su patria, una afirmación que se dio a prueba en los Premios Nuestra Tierra, un importante galardón colombiano que le otorgó 6 premios, en una noche, a este exitoso artista. Y para los que saben de música, este ramillete de premios no les fue sorpresa, ya que el tema es una de las canciones que más tiempo se ha mantenido en las prestigiosas listas de los Billboards.

Pero la fiesta continua, la firma Sony Music, anunció con gran alegría, que el caribeño Carlos Alberto Vives Restrepo se une a su elenco, tras la firma de un contrato en donde su nueva producción Corazón Profundo -el cual contiene el tema antes mencionado- se perfila ya como uno de los favoritos y más exitosos álbumes del año. Su video oficial ha superado los 18 millones de visitas en YouTube, a tan solo tres meses de su lanzamiento.

Y aunque muy lejos ya de sus inicios, Vives conserva esa esencia que lo llevó a convertirse en “embajador del vallenato” hacia el mundo entero, tras el rotundo éxito que obtuvo con sus canciones La Gota Fría, El Amor de mi Tierra y La Tierra del Olvido.

Tanto sus canciones, como su sonrisa dinámica y alegre, han convertido a Vives en la digna representación de una cultura caribeña alegre, humilde y jovial en el exterior. Carlos ha sabido representar con gran orgullo a una Colombia que lo apoya y que lo sigue tanto en el interior, como en el exterior del país, y tras de muchas premiaciones, ser el único colombiano en ganar un Premio Grammy en el año 2000 y posteriormente, el Premio Grammy Latino, es la mejor retribución que el cantante le puede dar al apoyo de su gente.

En cuanto a su vida personal, Carlos Vives ha mantenido mucha prudencia en lo que se relaciona con su último y tercer matrimonio, el cual contrajo con la ex reina Antioqueña Claudia Elena Vásquez, con quien tiene a sus dos últimos hijos, Elena y Pedro -los dos primeros hijos, Carlos Enrique y Lucia, nacieron cuando estaba casado con la puertorriqueña Herlinda Gómez- Sin embargo se ha rumorado que Carlos ha tenido que trabajar muy fuerte para mantenerse unido a sus hijos mayores, ya que las tensiones tras su divorcio con Herlinda fueron un reto muy difícil de superar. Pero el espíritu entusiasta de Carlos lo mantiene fuerte y siempre lleno de energía para poner a bailar a su gente y para seguir felizmente unido a sus 4 hijos, pero sobre todo, para conservar la sonrisa que es ya característica de su expresión siempre alegre.
